What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

My hair is curly. It's thick. It's wavy. It's outrageous. I'm white, but have often been asked if I'm mixed with something because of my hair. It's a little past my shoulders and when ever I straighten it, it's "straight" but thick. And then it poofs up the instant I meet humidity. Living in FL, well, it's bound to happen. I've heard of the chi and some others but want to know from people with hair like mine what works best. I know these things are expensive, so I want to make sure I invest in the best. Thanks so much :]]

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

Wow, I have the same problem!! Lol... When people meet me, the first thing they ask is "Is that hair fake, or is one of your parents half black??". I swear, every time i leave the house a swarm of little old people come up to me and start touching my head "Oohh honey your hair is so pretty! Were did you get it done??" lol. It drives me crazy!! I hate my hair!!

Lol.

Anyway...

I've found that it doesn't exactly matter what BRAND of straightener you use, just that it has these features:

1. A WIDE ceramic plate [over 2.5 inces] for the speed.

2. A temperature that reaches at least, if not over 450 degrees.

3. A button that releases a bit of water, or prefferrably conditioner onto the hair while you straighten to keep it from drying out.

4. Removable/Switchable plates that allow you to create waves.

Ok... While I'm here, I mighnt as well give you a bit of advice to minimize the poof.

Pick up some of these AMAZING products... (the ones i have best luck with... here:

http://www.redken.com/yourhair/proc.cfm?...

I love the smooth down series... Everything in it works wonders!

I swear, Redken is the only thing I use.

[no, i'm not working for redken... they just rock]

2. The night before you straighen your hair, soak and comb your hair about an hour before you go to sleep. Immediately before you go to bed, Comb your hair again Pull your hair into a tight bun on the top of your head, or Braid it... ( but pull hard!). Try both and see which one works better. But, for both, pull it so tight that you cant see much curl on the top of of your head. Put in some whatever styling product you use then- make sure it's reached every part of your head... all the way through the hair, not just on the top layer. Also part your hair however you want it the next day.

This will make your hair less curly when you wake up, and easier to straighten.

3.Don't wash your hair that morning... Just straighten your hair.... but make sure it's not TOO straight... ( I always do waves with curlers because Long hair that frizzes easily will look ugly and ignored at the tips)

4. Spray this stuff on after your'e done...

http://www.redken.com/products/displayPr...

And if you decide to keep it curly.... this rocks:

Good luck... And i feel your hair related pain!

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

people say chi but i know a better one its a babyliss pro

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

Idon't have curly hair, but a straigtener that really works is CHi brand. You can buy it at Ulta or a local beauty or hair salon. Be sure to buy after or before straightening cream. It might help!!

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

blow-dry

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

the wet to staright starightner

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

Get a CHI! Those things are awesome, I have really thick wavy hair and my CHI gets it board straight and it lays down (no flyaways) and it dosent grow in the humidity!

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

i went to a class for hair straighting and i did see the ionic straiting done .

It was amazing !! the person having it done had very kinky curl but when it was done it was smooth and silkier!!

I can't say were you will find a salon in FL. w/someone who does this but look around it is well worth it .Just remember this is permanent , it has to grow out !!

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

i also use a chi, and i'm happy with it, but i'd say the straightener is only part of the problem. next time you get your hair cut, i'd ask your stylist to thin it out some to make it less "poofy" and more manageable. there's also a chemical treatment you can get that permanently (well, for six months or so), chemically straightens your hair. it isn't good for your hair, nor is it cheap, but it works.

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

go to the salon and ask them to make a permanent straightened for you, ( it is some thing like perm, but straight hair instead of curl them )

What is the best straightener for unruly hair?

Chi works wonders!

How can you soften your hair and keep it straight without using a straightener?

my hair gets soo frizzy after i shower, and it won't stay straight (which is my natural hair style.. or it was my natural hair =[...) should i stop tie-ing up my hair? curling my hair?

How can you soften your hair and keep it straight without using a straightener?

this happens to my hair ALL the time, and it makes me SO freakin' mad. all i do is use some lotion. make sure u dont put 2 much if ur hair is greesy like mine. but this will take away ANY fly aways and Frizzyness and curls! Good Luck閳?br>

i would reccomend using a non scented lotion. but u can find some lotions that smell really good in hair, so u could use those. i use Malibu Hemp lotion it smells tropical. its in a BIG brown (see through) bottle

How can you soften your hair and keep it straight without using a straightener?

heres a tip!

when you get out of the shower, blow dry your hair and when its dry, use a smoothing serum (try aveda.com) or ask your stylist for one! it smooths your hair and makes it extra soft!

%26lt;3

How can you soften your hair and keep it straight without using a straightener?

just use a little quantum of hair remover, and hold the other end of your hair. now take shower. do not worry about tir-ing ,cutting.problem solved.

How can you soften your hair and keep it straight without using a straightener?

Wash your hair as usual, and towel dry, before adding some straightening serum. I use Loreal one, the one in the pink bottle, but only use a small walnut sized blob, and apply to the ends of your hair, not the roots because that makes it greasy. Then blowdry your hair as you would normally straighten it, by tying up most of your hair and doing it layer by layer, and using a brush to keep it straight while you're blowdrying.

How can you soften your hair and keep it straight without using a straightener?

oh ya that happens to me too. i just use my fav hand lotion after drying with a hairdryer or towel, after a shower. just take some on your fingertips not much and sweep your hands through ur hair.its makes it shiny and nonfrizzy

I have thick&layered hair. length - about middle of my boobs. what straightener will get it real

I have sideswept bangs, %26amp; i just want a nice professional straightener that will get my layered thick hair straight. any ideas or brands? your help will be really appreciated!!! :)

I have thick%26amp;layered hair. length - about middle of my boobs. what straightener will get it really straight?

I am a hair stylist and have tried all the irons CHI, GHD, SEDU,Corlioliss. I thought they were all pretty much the same. Then a few weeks ago I was at a fashion show out here in LA. I was backstage doing the models hair and one of the stylists asked me to try their new iron.I was floored once I tried it! It took me half the time to do her hair than normal, as well as the shine was unbelievable!! I had to know where she got this. I found mine at http://www.phibeauty.com and here is the best part, only 79.99!!!!!! I did some research and figured out why theirs is so much better. There plate are not just ceramic, they are also Tourmaline infused. It locks in the hair natural moisture so the hair does not fry out or burn. It stays nice and shiny!!

I have thick%26amp;layered hair. length - about middle of my boobs. what straightener will get it really straight?

It's called CHI.

But, Im warning you, theyre expensive a heck. Theyre salon exclusive. But, trust me, theyll work on ANY hair type.

I use them in my salon.

I have thick%26amp;layered hair. length - about middle of my boobs. what straightener will get it really straight?

my hair is the same get ghd,s they straighten any hair they are about 鎷?00 but really good

I have thick%26amp;layered hair. length - about middle of my boobs. what straightener will get it really straight?

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

a boy in my class was on a ski trip with the school and he was the only bot that brought a hair straighteners, and not even the female teachers that went with them brought one so they all had to borrow it and he got awful slagging because of it!!

is it going too far?

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

I know it sounds very cliche but there's a reason why the phrase "To each his own" is such a classic. People need to do whatever they need to do to feel good about themselves, especially when it comes to appearance. If that boy really felt like he didn't like his hair as it was and needed to straighten it then I don't think that qualifies as going too far. It may seem a bit weird to you or some other people but consider some of the things that you yourself have probably done in the past (some of which would probably cause a few of your friends to laugh at you if they knew) and cut the guy a little slack.

And this is coming from someone who is known for always overpacking and carrying around way more stuff than necessary. I can say from personal experience that sometimes it's just from want of being the person that people look to for stuff that they need. It's nice to be known as the go-to person. So maybe his annoyance was a bit of a put on.

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

wowza, and i thought it was bad that my friend only used one shampoo and blow dried..... i guess boys are starting to realize that hair has a big impact on girls sometimes...

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

it isnt if his hair is frizzy and crazy looking without straightening it!!..If its too long!

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

Nope... its normal nowadays. Most my guy friends wax legs and chest so....

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

It's a little vain, but "too far" relative to what?

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

Why shouldnt he use straightners, most of the boys nowdays use loads that girls tend to use and if he likes to keep himself tidy then good luck to him.

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

my nephew is 15 nearly 16 and he uses them and his hair looks really good

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

err yes !

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

Not really. Some guys are even more vain about their hair and clothes than us girls are!!!! My son takes forever getting ready in the morning cuz he has to shower and do his hair just right- iron his clothes and look just right before he will even think about leaving the house! So guys r pretty secure with themselves when they do this- they dont feel girly at all and most arent. They just care how they look too. Their just doing it for us women!

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

yes.

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

No, guys do their hair these days God knows how....if that's the worst he ever does there is nothing to worry about.

Is it going too far when a boy uses a hair straighteners?

no why should it I'm all for equality boys want to look nice just as much as the girls .... :)

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or

i want one that will damage my hair as little as possible. ive heard that the wet/dry straighteners work good....but that seems like it will damage the hair horribly. My hair cannot hold a curl or stay straight, so I'm looking for something that will possibly do both if you hold it a certain way. Any kind of shampoo or hair product that helps with this will be appreciated too.

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or stay straight..

I have the same problem, here's what to do.

Products you will need:

1. Permanent Straightener

2. Straightening Gel

3. Thermal Spray

4. Flat Iron

5. Blow Dryer (at least 1875 Watts)

6. A good shampoo and conditioner

1. If you have a Sally Beauty Supply nearby, purchase "Curl Remover", the brand is One n Only. It's a permanent straightener. It's not harsh and they will sell that particular one to anybody, you don't have to be licensed. I use it and it don't fry my hair. They have 3 different formulas, one is normal, one is for if you have color in it and one is for if you have highlights. Make sure you get the right one. It's about $8.00.

2. Also, in their generic line, pick up some "Straightening Gel: Compare to Paul Mitchell Straight Works". It's in a black and white tube. It's about $6.00 and lasts a long time.

3. Pick up some Thermal Spray, it's a must have if you're going to use a flat iron. You will need it to protect your ends.

I don't recommend getting Ion: Heat Protection from Sally Beauty, it's too greasy. They may have something else there. I use the Matrix Sleek Look and I think it's the best. You can get it at Wal-Mart's Smart Style the cheapest, it's about $12.00. They have an off brand version of it at Sally Beauty called Slickline Thermal Iron Smoother, about $7.00. I've never tried it but for a cheaper product, I would say it would be the best you can get.

4. The best flat iron to get is the Paul Mitchell one. It's black and green and will run you about $130.00. It goes to 400 degrees and won't fry your hair as long as you're using thermal spray. If you can't afford it, Sally Beauty has a ceramic one in their generic line that compares to CHI. It's about $50.00 and heats up to 410 degrees. If you have to go with a Wal-Mart one, get a ceramic one. I don't care for Conair products, so I would recommend a Revlon or a Remington.

6. With shampoo and conditioner, you get what you pay for. Stay away from anything that is not sold in a salon and be careful what you buy at Sally Beauty. The only thing I will use at Sally Beauty is Park Avenue SOFT by Naturelle, which is generic for Redken All Soft. I like Matrix Sleek Look and Redken All Soft the best. They can be purchased at a hair salon or the Smart Style at Wal Mart. Matrix is on sale frequently 2 liters for $24.

When you can find a sale like that, you really come out cheaper in the long run when you can get it that way than buying $3 - $5 products because you don't have to use near as much of it and you're getting a larger quantity at a better price.

What to do with these products:

Follow the instructions precisely on the permanent straightener. Repeat every 6 weeks.

Use your shampoo and conditioner, try not to wash your hair everyday. If you smoke like I do, you really have no choice. It's better not to.

When you do wash, put a nickel size amount of the straightening gel in your hair and dry it. Don't brush it while you dry it, only use your finger tips. Brushing it will break it.

After it's dry, it should only need the least bit of straightening with the iron. Spray in the thermal spray, ensuring that you get the roots good, that's the most important part and run the iron through it. You will have to keep adjusting the temp. at first to find what suits you the most.

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or stay straight..

The Croc straightening Iron is good.

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or stay straight..

Van de Graff generators.

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or stay straight..

The best straighteners out there are expensive but effective. Paul Brown is one of the best. Chi's are alright but not as great as they're made out to be. Yes, wet/dry straighteners are alright, but I highly reccomend not using them. There si always a risk of damage.

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or stay straight..

Chi straighteners.

They are ceramic and won't hurt your hair too badly, but really amazing.

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or stay straight..

Corioliss

my hair is straight but it has waves in the bottom

this straighner will get rid of the wave while others wont

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or stay straight..

CHI is the best

What would you consider the best straightener out of your experiences? Hair can't hold curl or stay straight..

I've only used the CHI straightener on my hair, and I love it!

My hair is naturally wavy, and I go to sleep with my hair wet, so it's crazy sometimes when I wake up, but my CHI gets all that out, and it stays straight all day. Also, it doesn't take long. This wouldn't be good for curling your hair, but it works well with the flip out hairstyles (had it...loved it), and with the flip under styles. Takes a little practice though, but not difficult.

My hair is dark, and thick and has a lot of body. I use Visible Changes "Leave it" leave in conditioner...(they changed the name recently though and I can't remember to what)...and I use either Sebastian's "Laminates" gel, or Paul Mitchell's "Super Skinny Serum". I switch back and forth between the products, but I always use a leave in conditioner to help protect my hair from damage. I mix the conditioner and the product in the palm of my hand and then apply it throughout my hair. This method helps me distribute the product evenly throughout my hair. When I did it separately, I would sometimes put too much product in one spot on my head...oops!

If I use no product at all, my hair is a little frizzy, and the straightening doesn't last...that only happened once when I went on vacation and forgot my hair stuff! I didn't want to waste vacation time tracking down product, so I was a poofy headed tourist having a great time and didn't care hahaha...I'll never see any of those people again!!

If you have thin hair, these products might weigh your hair down though...maybe even make it look a little oily...not cute! A stylist should be able to recommend products that are good for your hair type. Ask if they have a return policy on their products. I've tried a lot of products that they recommended, and if it didn't do what they said it would, I returned it!

Hope this helps!

:)

I need a good straightener?

I have crazy thick hair and not all straighteners work for me. I need to know what hair straightener works really well. Please help! I'm tired of always throwing my hair up into a pony tail because if I wear it down my hair poofs way out!!!

I need a good straightener?

I have the same problem as you.

My tips are: Use a ceramic hair straightner. Yuo don't have to spend a fortune on one. The most important thing is that it MUST have a heat setting. Since you hair is thick, you need major heat in order to straighten it. If you get one with an on/off switch, it'll kinda straighten your hair but it'll poof up with the most minimal amount of moisture in the air.

You can let your hair dry naturally and the use the iron, its what i do. Please don't iron your hair wet. You can't even imagine how much that damages your hair.

You can use an anti frizz on your hair after your done ironing so your hair wont frizz up as easily.

Hope this helps!

I need a good straightener?

i use conair and it works fine for me you just need to straighten thin Pisces of your hair which will make it more smother and thiner.

I need a good straightener?

Try the CHI ceramic straightening iron. You can purchase at your local salon and if they have none in stock, one can be ordered for you. They work wonderfully for the curliest of hair. You might want to consider using a straightening balm with it as well for humid days. Redken, CHI and Bed Head make great straightening balms for this.

Good luck

I need a good straightener?

Get a wet to dry straightener ( you can find them anywhere!). Then when you straighten your hair divide it into sections for straightening for best results. As for the poofing, anti frizz products work best on these situations. Try to get a non-greasy product though for natural look.

I need a good straightener?

use a metal one... go for the better brands like philips if u have thick hair.. they shud work.

also make sure u wash ur hair properly. it shud be free from oil. use schwarzkopf iron serum before ironing. after ironing use a hold on cream.

it also depends on the humidity of the place. Thr's nothing u can do to save ur hair from it.

I need a good straightener?

Don't use GHD hair straighteners.

I need a good straightener?

Same problem I have! If I leave my hair down, especially after a shower, I look like a troll doll! Here's what I do:

When hair dries, I use a straightning iron (conair) in small sections, when hair is dry, I use BIOSILK silk therapy, it comes in a small clear bottle with a black cap, then i use TRESEMME shine spray, and after that, PANTENE pro-v style classic hairspray, this is what i do and it works everytime, hope i can help!

I need a good straightener?

Go to Sally's Beauty Supply. They have awesome stuff there. They have one straightener in particular is $32 and it comes with changeable disc, so you can make your hair with a wave or a waffle as well.

I need a good straightener?

I use a CHI It was expensive, but it works great and it last a long time. You should be able to but one form your stylist.

My hair is long, think and wavy and it is stick straight now. love love love it %26lt;3

I need a good straightener?

I would say DO use a GHD... my hair is thick and frizzy and its the only one I have ever tried that works. Just make sure your hair is conditioned well and you use a heat styling defence spray.

I need a good straightener?

http://www.maxiusbeauty.com/

get this straightner excellent i have 2 of them

I need a good straightener?

The best straightener I've ever used was a humectant. It used to be that the only kind available was really expensive ( 11$ for a small bottle of Nexus Humectrus) but these days the Suave company makes a humectant that cost about 2$ for a good size bottle, usually found at Wal-Mart or K-Mart. If you look at the bottle it reads, " Compare to active ingredients in Nexus Humectrus " , so it's the same stuff.

The also make a Sleek shampoo for frizzy or dry hair.

I need a good straightener?

use ghd's!! they are brilliant!! life saviors lol.. i would reccommend getting the thick ghd's as they work really well with thick hair (i have thick hair too and my hair is poker straight when i use these)

they are quite costly, but well worth it!! .. but remember to also use the heat protector that comes with them to prevent ur hair from gettin damaged :)

I need a good straightener?

You can use relaxer or mechanical hot Iron. Or go to hair saloon.

Go to a pharmacy and talk to the works there they will show some products read the label take your time and then pick one at a time and try them, most have shelf life so do not buy them all at once.

Best straightener for coarse hair?

I'm about to buy a straightner. My hair has small curls, it's thick, but still manageable. What brand of straightners are the best (enough heat, hair stays straight for long, etc.)? Preferably suggest brans that have ceramic, please.

Best straightener for coarse hair?

okay this is my speciality i had the same problems most of the time when you buy straightners it will say ceramic on the package you do not want to straighten you hair with a hot comb you can with a ceramic flat iron if you have chemicals in your hair you dont want to put direct heat on it cause it can damage your hair and you might have to get it cut if you do.you can press the roots and flat iron the rest if you want to it will be better but if your black you might want to get it done regularly because you will just sweat it out.so i suggest conair and other popular ceramics.good luck anymore questions abut hair im your girl.

Best straightener for coarse hair?

Conair Instant Heat, Ultra-Hot Ceramic Straightener CS19CS

Best!!!

Best straightener for coarse hair?

you can eaither get conair or remington straightner it depends it maybe cost much but it is good. But i have remington wet2straight and it really straighten my hair try one of those or get the conair with the gold colored metal that heats you hair those work too.

Best straightener for coarse hair?

chi for shure. pricey but the absoulte best. i have long wavy hair and it takes me 10 minutes

to style

Best straightener for coarse hair?

you definitely want one that's ceramic and that heats up to a high temp, like Chi or Hai Stik or Hot Tools. I've got similar hair, and i use a ceramic one that wide barrelled. you'll also want to try using a straightening balm and some anti frizz serum before you blow dry you hair. this will make sure you hair will hold longer.

good luck

Best straightener for coarse hair?

chi. definately.

Best straightener for coarse hair?

the best straightener has to be THE CHI

Best straightener for coarse hair?

A ceramic based iron is the best because they get hotter for you. Below I have provided a link which provides flat irons. I think CHI makes the best

http://www.folica.com/appliances/straigh...

Best straightener for coarse hair?

You will do best to invest in a Chi iron. It's truly amazing. I have seen it take the thickest tiny natural curls to sleek straight hair in minutes. Plus, its ceramic plates help to prevent damage to the hair, and put moisture back into the hair. It's a little on the expensive side, but well worth it. Check on Amazon and Ebay for the best prices. It's the only straightener I've ever seen work as well as it does on coarse ethnic hair. Trust me- you'll LOVE it!

Good luck!

Best straightener for coarse hair?

Chi is the best. I have African American clients and can get their hair perfectly straight, smooth, and shiny. They just love it.

Best straightener for coarse hair?

What is the difference between GHD STYLER NEW GENERATION and GHD HAIR STRAIGHTENERS 3.1b REGULAR ple

Last month my GHD's broke!!!! I couldn;t believe it!

I have found a website which has the straighteners on for the cheapest.

I have heard they can break, but can't everything?

But i was just wondering what is the difference between GHD HAIR STRAIGHTENERS 3.1b REGULAR and GHD STYLER NEW GENERATION??? As the new gen. seems to be around 鎷?0-鎷?5 more?

Please help me! thanks x x

What is the difference between GHD STYLER NEW GENERATION and GHD HAIR STRAIGHTENERS 3.1b REGULAR please?

the new ones are a slightly different shape, the plates are more curved, for curling, and they turn them selves off if they over heat. also, they beep when you turn them on and again when they're ready. I'd stick with my old ones, but as yours have broken, if they're not that much more I'd just get the styler instead.

What is the difference between GHD STYLER NEW GENERATION and GHD HAIR STRAIGHTENERS 3.1b REGULAR please?

Hi I asked this when I went to the hairdressers the other day, Aprantly they have a rounded off edge so it easy to curl with them, and they have the safety shut off. aswell

The thing is when she use them on mine I found that they pulled far more than the normal GHDS maybe it was just the way the hairdresser straightened my hair but my mum went and said that they pulled her hair too. So im not too sure which ones I would go for, As my normal GHDS dont pull.

I wouldnt listen to what the people say about them breaking as I heard that the normal GHDs were blowing up after a certain amount of time, but touch wood I havent had it happend to my GHDS yet.

But its up to you, go for the ones you know that are good or try the new ones.

What is the difference between GHD STYLER NEW GENERATION and GHD HAIR STRAIGHTENERS 3.1b REGULAR please?

the new generation ghds are the newest ones out for 2007 and the regular ones are the ones are queit old. the newest ones have been designed better because they switch them self off if not in use and youve left them on, they bleep when ready to use and they are also better for doing curls/twists etc.

hope ive helped xxx

What is the difference between GHD STYLER NEW GENERATION and GHD HAIR STRAIGHTENERS 3.1b REGULAR please?

If you buy a pair of GHD's and they break if you don't try to fix them yourself in anyway and return them to GHD they fix them for you at no cost!

I know because my daughter had a pair and they did this! The GHD's were over a year old and just stopped working for no reason at all. Someone told us that if you return the straighteners to the factory they will repair them and THEY DID!

The hair straighteners did cost 鎷?9 (we got them on a special prom where you could get 鎷?0 off a pair of GHD's if you handed in any old pair of curling tongues or straighteners) but in the end you pay for what you get and the after service was good for once!

What is the difference between GHD STYLER NEW GENERATION and GHD HAIR STRAIGHTENERS 3.1b REGULAR please?

GHD Straighteners = Just straighten hair

GHD Styler New Generation = Straighten, Curly, Make Waves ete etc

What is the difference between GHD STYLER NEW GENERATION and GHD HAIR STRAIGHTENERS 3.1b REGULAR please?

Yes the new ghd mk4 do have a new shape and a more rounded barrell so they are easier to curl with however, you could curl with the old GHDs aswell. The most important features on the new mk4 must be the auto-switch sleep mode - which turns off your ghds if they are left on for more than 30 minutes. Aswell as the 2 year manufacturers warranty that you get with them compared to the old model which only came with a one year warranty. they are also multi-country voltage compatible aswell so you don't lose any of the power when using them abroad.

For more information check out the following site.

you can get the new mk4 ghd for 鎷?09 with free delivery and 鎷?8 worth of free products and a chance to win a fantastic ghd passport competition. Also available are the hot pink ghd, the mk3 ghds, and the new ghd summer travel bag

??????

How should i straighten my hair with a straightener? My hair is wavy, long, think, and hard to straighten?

If you wanted to do it permantly you could get a relaxer. But I wouldn't do that.

All you can do it just seperate it into small sections and do it section by section.

How should i straighten my hair with a straightener? My hair is wavy, long, think, and hard to straighten?

I have curly, long, thick hair- my straigthening iron works! You need to buy a really good straightening iron and they're usually about $100. Mine is from a company called "Chi". It works nicely.

How should i straighten my hair with a straightener? My hair is wavy, long, think, and hard to straighten?

If you want it straight every day, I'd say it's worth it to go to a salon and get it chemically straightened. But if you only want to straighten it like twice a week, then this is what I do and it works pretty well for me:

When your hair is damp, put some Sunsilk Hydra TLC in it, then brush your hair so it's straight. Blow dry your hair, but keep brushing it every now and again so it blow dries mostly straight. Then, when it's dry or almost dry, straighten it in layers. The Sunsilk creme makes it so much easier to straighten and blowdrying/combing at the same time makes it dry a lot straighter so you have less work to do. You don't necessarily have to straighten in layers, but if you have thick hair you probably should.

How should i straighten my hair with a straightener? My hair is wavy, long, think, and hard to straighten?

Chi's are really good. Do your hair in layers. That's like all..

How should i straighten my hair with a straightener? My hair is wavy, long, think, and hard to straighten?

You can straighten your hair with a flat Iron pretty easily. You will probably need a little bit of product in you hair though. Sometimes it helps if your hair is a little damp. You have to go really slow and probably go over you hair more than once with the flat Iron. But once you figure out how to work with it, it should be easy for you to do.

How should i straighten my hair with a straightener? My hair is wavy, long, think, and hard to straighten?

Try putting some hair products to smoothen up you hair like some type of oil or spray. They sell them at any store, like wal-mart or target. Try dividing your hair in smaller pieces and yes it can take a long time but once you get the hang of it you'll be able to do it in no time. Hope it helps!

I KNOE WHAT U MEAN MY HAIR IS THE SAME WAY AND AT TIMES I DO FLAT IRONING BUT IT DOESNT WORK I BLOW DRY IT ND THEN I FLAT IRON IT........LOOK AT THIS VIDEO HOPE IT HELPS SHES VERRY DETAILED..

How should i straighten my hair with a straightener? My hair is wavy, long, think, and hard to straighten?

kay i know this one, because my hair is exactly like yours, but thanks to this routine i do every other day leaves my hair extremely silky and smooooth :D

1st half : i do this before bed :D

kay, well first off wash your hair. you want to use a straightening shampoo %26amp; conditioner. I use Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight products. Use a dollop of shampoo and massage it into the roots and all over hair. I like to rinse and repeat, but you don`t need to unless you want clean, clean hair. Apply conditioner only to the ends, and let it seep in for about 3 minutes, than wash it out with cold water, which seals follicles and makes it shinier :]

Don`t towel dry your hair. Ring it out while in the shower and run a wide toothed comb through it, then put a silkining creme into your hair, i use Garnier Fructis`s one, its brilliant, trus me. Only use a nickel sized amount, you don`t want your hair to get icky and greasy.

now, blowdry your hair, no round brush needed just a nice hair dryer, I use some Conair one, lol. Blowdry it on the medium or high setting in sections starting from the back to the front. Blowdry it till it is completely dry or at least just a bit damp [you can let it air dry from there]

Now, ask your mom or sister to do this for you: have them put in big BIG velcro %26lt; -- must be velcro curlers [at beauty salons, theyre classified as straightening curlers or volumizing ones] and leave them in for about an hour, so watch a TV show or something; then take them out, and your hair won`t be completely straight, but it will be pretty much smooth.

Now, flatiron at the highest setting. I have two irons, a wet 2 dry and regular one by Chi, and my highest setting is 3oo. i use that one. While it`s heating, spray in a protecting spray, like this one i use called Flatliner by some fancy company, i got it at my local hair salon. Then to touch ups on your already smooth hair in smallish sections staring directly at the roots then to the bottom. Go over each section 2-3 times, then go to bed and sleep on your hair.

PART TWO - IN THE MORNING :D

wake up, and do some quick touch ups on a lower heat setting, then spray in finishing spray or rub in creme. I add when i`m done, an ieesy weensy bit of straigtening creme, then spray with hairspray.

then im doneee

;D

What's the best CHI straightener with...?

I have long black wavy hair, but not frizzy and my hair is thick and sometimes silky or dry. What's the best chi hair straightener (flat iron only) for me? Price doesn't really matter right now. I need a hair straightener that:

-does not burn hair

-keeps my hair silky

-doesn't take a long time to straighten

-blows smoke

-has temperature settings

-has a wide iron base

-doesn't cause lots of split ends

-etc.

Thank you soooo much!!

What's the best CHI straightener with...?

Any of them is fine.

Are there any good products that will make my hair straight without damaging it (not a straightener)

I straighten my hair every day, but I don't want it to get too damaged. Are there any products like a conditioner or something that will make my hair straight?

Are there any good products that will make my hair straight without damaging it (not a straightener)?

I use Herbal Essence too. It really helps. Also before I straighten my hair I put in some leave in conditioner. Pantine Pro-V extra straight is what works for me and you don't need to use very much. I bought a bottle back in june and its just now getting low.

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

I have very curly course hair and would like to get a really good pair of straighteners, I did have GHDs which were good but broke just over a year after buying them. Any advice would be appreciated.

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

Contact GHD and tell them that they are broken. They might still repair them for free as they're just out of warranty if not they will charge you about 鎷?0 to repair them.....Beats buying a new pair. You won't find a better brand...I've tried a few different types and I swear by them.

They've replaced mine twice for me now..No questions asked..... God bless GHD!! :)

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

i had ghd's and they have lasted for 6 years so i would contact them if they broke after a year as they'd still be under guarantee. no straightner is better then ghd's.

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

ahh GHD's ive been using them for years and they are brilliant, in about 10 seconds they warm up, they beep when hot enough to start straightning, and turn them selves off if u accidently leave them on ! honest id go for GHD, no better i think=)

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

I use Paul Mitchell. Probly about 100-200 bucks.

It's works great. Everyone in my class always asks me how i get my hair so straight.

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

GHD's All The Way ..

love Me%26amp;Me--xxx

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

CHI

I've been using mine for four years and it's still in perfect condition. It costs around $100 and I got it from a salon so obviously it's good if they use it.

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

GHD's are the best you can buy.

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

GHDS

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

CHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... they are THE best straightner in the world whenever i go to the salon they use chi and trust me i pay for it. a chi is about $200

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

Hiya. You should have sent the GHD's back to the company, will a letter saying what happened etc (recorded deliv) They would have most definately replaced them.

Again, i would recommend GHDs

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

I just got the new GHD mark 4 and they do curls too as the irons are barrell shaped 鎷?19.00 from GHD website. You also get a CD and a styling product free.

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

SCP - Salon Creative Pro

GHD's burn your hair and are very bad.

SCP's = 鎷?0 - 鎷?0

or find them cheaper on Ebay.

Good Luck!

(don't forget to use protection spray if you use them every day)

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

Well the GHDs and CHI are the most popular one's but that dosn't mean they are the best. I also have curly and I've had the Sedu for a long time and it's great. I'm pretty sure most people will tell you GHDs and CHI are the best but they are not. Go to the website listed under source. That is the Sedu. You can also explore other great sraighteners on this website. Good Luck!!!!!!

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

I have REALLY curly hair and found that T3 straighteners are really good because they also dont dry out your hair. I think they are about the same price as GHD's.

http://www.t3straighteners.co.uk/prod_li...

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

Absolutely GHDs. I have the most unruly hair going and it it makes it dead straight. I shall not ever go with any other brand. So you go out there and buy yourself another.

What would you recommend as the best hair straighteners?

chi or taurs is da best

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry

if I use it one wet hair do i still have to use hair protective serum/spray?

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry hair?

yes, i would.

no matter if your hairs wet OR dry, you still need to use a protectant, because the cuticle is bare, and prone to damage from the extreme heat.

its still being exposed to damage regardless.

try to find a mousse designed one, or similar, that wil cover all your hair, the spray isnt that great a coverage.

:)

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry hair?

I would still use the protective spray, straightening your hair can really damage it, so i would definately use the protectant spray just to be safe!

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry hair?

Personally i think that would be the best thing to do for your hair because even if its for wet hair it still can damage your hair. So in my case Yea

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry hair?

Cant hurt,

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry hair?

i really dont know but having a heat protecter spray really helps your hair get away from all the damage from the straighter but not all of it but pretty much

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry hair?

i usually do, you dont have to, but if you want your hair to stay healthy either use a heat protecter spray or leave in conditioner, i use both so my hair is strong, shiny, and straight. hope i helped :]

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry hair?

Yeah you should use it no matter what just to keep it from damaging your hair.

Do you have to use a heat protector spray if you are using a straightener desighned for wet and dry hair?

I would if you want to protect your hair. Straigtening wet hair would do more damage than dry hair. If you straighten your hair very often then you definitely should use protector spray. I have the CHI brand, but honestly the V05 works the same and it's a cheap price.

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

Pull your hair back really tight into a ponytail with a little gel while it is still wet and sleep on it with a scarf. in the morning the roots will be straight. Depending on how long your hair is you could gel the low ponytail and then flip it forward to lay on top of your head and tie it up also in the scarf. Sounds weird but it should work. Try it and then pick me for the best answer.

Permanent solution is to get your hair done at the hairdresser treated with a relaxer, alternatively you can blow dry out with a brush, but this will be just as harsh as using hot irons if you do it on a regular basis

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

You can permanently straigten it at a salon. The cost ranges frm 60- up. Depends on where you live. The bad thing is that it damadges your hair ;[ And also the chancces of it looking good are 50/50. It might look TERRiBlE. But it can also turn out very nice.

Depends whatever you want. =)

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

Yes, when you dry your hair you can get a "round-barrel brush" and then straighten while you dry! But I do recommend using a straightening iron, they work really good!!! I hope this helps! God Bless!

with a hair dryer

it doesnt really get it extremely straight but at least its sum thing

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

Girl I feel your pain. But let me tell you about a little secret called Magic Straight. It permanently straightens your hair, of course its similar to a perm. So like a perm it eventually grow out, so you would have to do touch ups. Some systems you should look into is Yuko System, but of course there are more less expensive systems out there. Be sure to go to an experienced professional, otherwise they will fry your hair.

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

You could use a straightening shampoo and products and then blow dry it straight. I personally recommend Bumble and Bumble straight. Oh and the best brush to use is a flat, and wide paddle brush. (I am a hairstylist)

yes u can get chemical straightener/relaxer its like a reverse perm very popular with afro-caribbian people its last for quite a while im not sure if its suitable for all hair types id suggest u talk to ur hairdresser for advice b4 doin anything or if u kno any1 with this hair type they cud advise u xxx

you can use rollers or perm it but if you perm it it might damage it.

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

If the reason you don't want to use an iron or straightener is because of heat damage; than blow drying your hair isn't the solution either.

What really works, and works really great is after shampooing and conditioning your hair; towel dry it, but not too much. Your going to need a scarf or Satin scarf (you can purchase one at a local drugstore in the hair aisle), and comb your damp hair around your head, so that your hair is completely wrapped around your head. Once you have done that, spray some sheen on your hair, then tie the scarf over your hair before you go to bed.

In the morning, when you remove your scarf, not only will your hair be dry, but after combing your hair down...your hair will be straight! I have done this to many of my friends hair, and it saves their hair from heat, and chemical damage. It trully works.

Just try, what I have suggested, and if it doesn't work...sue me.

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

I don't know what country you live in, but Boots the chemist in the UK make a DIY permanent straightening kit. I've used it and it's very effective, provided you follow the instructions.

You can also get your hair permanently straightened in salons, but it's much more expensive.

Google "Japanese Hair Straightening".

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

You can buy a thing which is a relaxant. That should help you. I've naturally curly, frizzy, whatever you want to call it hair %26amp; i've often thought about using it myself, the thing what stops me is, i kinda love who I am, sort of happy %26amp; content with my inner self now. So f**k what other people think. If they don't like you for who you are (hair %26amp; all) they are not worth knowing.

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

I have very thick hair and it's hard to comb, iron, or use a straingten, or get a perm (they will KILL my hair) so i just comb and brush it out using certain hair sprays and oils.

You could have it straightened chemically, but you would probably still need irons or at the very least to take some time with a rounded brush/

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

Yes you can use hair products on damp hair %26amp; blow dry straight or you could get your hair chemically straightend at the hairdressers (best to get a strand test first though to check your hair can stand the chemicals). You can get home kits but I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself - it's just too awkward!

Are There Any Other Ways To Straiten My Hair. Without an Iron or Straightener?

ok let me just say if you blow dry it you'll look like a poodle gone wrong like i do when your hairs naturaly curly its a mission, so i either put up with the hair straighteners when i'm going out only or use boots chemical straightener, it is good i've used it but only if your not one of those ones that's always putting hair dye in lol, (like me lol), anyway if you do don't go near a relaxer they're very harsh and use plenty of leave in conditioners and treatments they DO work no matter what they put in your hair ok. x

Does the solia straightener 1 3/4 size still curl hair?

i'm aware that the 1 1/4 size can curl hair

but what about the 1 3/4. i know its a bit bigger

but i still want something that can curl my hair

help?

Does the solia straightener 1 3/4 size still curl hair?

The 1 3/4 can still curl, but it makes much bigger, less tight curls. I own the 1 1/4 and mostly straighten but sometimes curl. It turns out really cute. A smaller one also causes less damage. Either way though and I love the brand Solia!

Does the solia straightener 1 3/4 size still curl hair?

both of these curl but the curls will look messy and wont be tight so they wont last long.

the best straightener to get perfect curls is 1" as the curls will be the tightest and they really will be curls :)

you can use the 1 1/4 too..

however the smaller the plates - the more control you have.

even when just straightening. ;)

Need help finding a straightener!!?

ok..so my sister was at a mall in Indianapolis one day and she came across one of those booths in the middle of the mall that was selling hair straighteners. They pulled her aside and tried the straightener on her hair, and to make a long story short, she bought the straightener on sale for $100. Well i've been borrowing it ever since then which was about a year ago and i LOVE IT! It's called "Royale" I've looked everywhere for this straightener..and all i've found were really cheap ones that look exactly like it, but they have a different name...is that what all those mall companies do? do they make one straightener and then use another name on that same product? because i'd really like to find the Royale Straightener!!! I'll post a picture for you guys also....

Need help finding a straightener!!?

I use a straightner called Welmington Wet2Straight! It is such a good straightner! i would recommend getting that one! Its only like $20-$40. depending on where you get it!

Need help finding a straightener!!?

i would just type the name of the straightner in the google search engine, or try yahoo shopping. I never heard of that straightner before, i bought a $100 ceramic called Coriolis from those booths at the mall and it didnt even straighten my hair. Its good that you found a straightner you like, for me i prefer the Hot Tools basic which is $30. I really hope you find it soon. Good luck.

What Is The Best Ceramic Flat Iron Straightener For Black Women With Long Natural Hair?

I am a African American and I have long thick hair, I'm about to start using the ceramic flat irons instead of those old fashion straightening combs (talk about an upgrade lol) and I don't know which one is the best for my hair. I went to a hair salon in Jan 2008 and the guy who did my hair, used a Flat Iron. After when he was finished with my hair it felt so soft and sleeky! the ceramic that he used was called," The Ion Brilliant W/D." I was so pleased of the results of what he did because normally if I had gotten my hair done with a straightening comb, it would have taken me 3 1/2 hrs!! to get finished. After about a week or 2 had past, my hair didn't feel as sleeky like it was before when i got it done, It was almost about to go back to it's Natural texture!! So I had to continuously put hair grease and oil sheen in my hair to keep It moist. This has never happen to me before!! until i decided to get a ceramic flat iron instead of a straightening comb what should i do?

What Is The Best Ceramic Flat Iron Straightener For Black Women With Long Natural Hair?

I recommend going to this site and looking at their flat irons ...they have just about every brand and you can read user reviews and figure out which one works for your type hair. This is a good site to buy from....they ship really fast and the prices are pretty competitive. I am sure you could get them on Ebay but I really don't think they would honor your warranty if something would happen.

What Is The Best Ceramic Flat Iron Straightener For Black Women With Long Natural Hair?

hi

i would recommend a CHI flat iron for you. i have been a hairstylist for over 20 years, and i love them. i find that the hair is silky and shiny when i am done, and i can use it on any type of hair. another great brand if babyliss, and they have great ceramic irons. either of these brands are worth the money. i would also recommend using a flat iron spray----go very lightly with it---just a fine mist. this will protect your hair from the heat, but if used properly, wll not make your hair feel sticky. good luck, and forget the straightening iron!!! they are hair killers!!!

I have no clue, I dye my hair all the time and nothing happens to the dye when i straighten it, wait a day or two to straighten it after you dye it next time and maybe this won't happen. if it continues, try buying a new straightner, i have a chi and a conair straightener. The chi is alot better but its alot of money, the conair is ok so try that if you cant afford it

Does any1 know a heat resistant hair dye for use with hair straighteners regularly??

are you sure its the straighteners doing it?

if so i would suggest its not the dye but a problem with the straighteners.

are you using a spray or serum to avoid heat damage as this can fade hair?

alberto vo5 do a fade defy serum that you use after conditioning and it locks the colour in by coating the hair, this may help to stop fading but still youre colour should not be coming out that drastically.

Does any1 know a heat resistant hair dye for use with hair straighteners regularly??

straightners cant 'strip' hair dye, its more likely that after you straighten your hair it just looks a little lank or dull, this is due to general condition of your hair and not using the best products for you particular hair type x

Does any1 know a heat resistant hair dye for use with hair straighteners regularly??

Use specialist shampoo %26amp; conditioner for coloured hair. The hair dye i use is Loreal Recital Preference it has fade proof technology. Also use a protective serum before using your straighteners.

WRITE IN ENGLISH PLEASE! THIS DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE.{DOUBLE DUTCH!!!}

Question for the guys with short hair. Do any of you use mens hair straighteners?

My son likes to wear his hair in the "spiked" style on top but with hair being naturally curly, blow drying (with or without serum) does not give that stand up result needed before applying gel/wax or whatever product gives the desired effect of spikey hair. I have seen the straighteners on the internet and was wondering (as they smaller than women's) if they are any good. Your POSITIVE comments would be much appreciated. Thanks

Question for the guys with short hair. Do any of you use mens hair straighteners?

well i used a straightner for a while and i just used a regular one. There's no need to buy 'men's" hair products cause their usually a bit more expensive, less reliable, and do practically the same thing only crappier.

Just buy him a regular straightner, it will last longer. The size won't really make a difference.

Question for the guys with short hair. Do any of you use mens hair straighteners?

i find mousse works fine i have short hair that just loves to go curly when it grows

Question for the guys with short hair. Do any of you use mens hair straighteners?

Yes, I have. and my hair is really short. I used to buy it in a shop for black girls and was so embarrassed of buying it. I used to say it was for my gf. lol. They are very good for spikey hair. just use it and then apply some gel to make it spikey.

Question for the guys with short hair. Do any of you use mens hair straighteners?

I know guys who use straighteners.

They have one that is used to curl or flatten that is really thin and would work good for a guy.

Question for the guys with short hair. Do any of you use mens hair straighteners?

Yeah i know a guy who uses a straightner on his hair and it looks good. I'm pretty sure any hair straightner would work though

Question for the guys with short hair. Do any of you use mens hair straighteners?

I have kinda short hair and i use a straightener.dont by a really skinny one ora areally chunky one.a medium sized one will do.get him to use it and then spike the hair up.womens and mens straighteners are exactly the same.

Question for the guys with short hair. Do any of you use mens hair straighteners?

When I had long-ish hair i would ocassionally straighten my hair but have not done so ever since I cut it short. I really can't see the use of a straighener on short hair. Ask your son to use some hair product with a strong hold and that should help. Herbal Essences extreme hold gel seems to work really well.

It's never happened to mine but it happened to my friend, and she sent hers back and got another pair for replacement!

Has anyone had a problem with there GHD hair straighteners and have had to send them back to the company?

Yes i have had to send them back several times! And i didnt have a reciept but they are really really good and send you a new pair back within a couple of days!Which wa good coz i really cant live without them.If you still have the box there should be a little booklet with the address to send them to!The first time i sent them back i had had them for over 2 years and they still replaced them! x

Has anyone had a problem with there GHD hair straighteners and have had to send them back to the company?

I did. Basically, the wire frayed and they were sparking! I called them up and explained, they asked me to return them. They sent me a brand new pair and a shampoo %26amp; conditioner set. They were really great, and did not quibble at all.

Straight hairs. Do most girls/women get them rebonded or do they use hair straighteners?

Straight hairs. Do most girls/women get them rebonded or do they use hair straighteners?

Most girls use straighteners

Straight hairs. Do most girls/women get them rebonded or do they use hair straighteners?

they use hair streighteners

Straight hairs. Do most girls/women get them rebonded or do they use hair straighteners?

where i come from, most girls would rather get their hair rebonded, cos it lasts and is sleeker and shinier.

Straight hairs. Do most girls/women get them rebonded or do they use hair straighteners?

Yea..fr where im fr.. most gals rebond their hair rather than straightening it too...

Its gd to see hw straight hair looks on u by trying out da hair straightener before deciding whether 2 rebond or not.

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

probly to blow dry sections of your hair with a round brush

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

not possible

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

Blow dryer.

Other then that, nothing.

Its straight because of the heat from straighteners and blow dryers.

If you don't have heat, it won't do anything.

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

Try Herbal Essenses Dangerously Straight Shampoo

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

You can get your hair chemically straightened for about $50-$120 every year.

Or blow dry your hair.

Use a straightening shampoo, conditioner, and serum. The best is Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight.

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

Blow dry it as straight as you can with a brush %26amp; then have a friend or family member iron it straight. Be careful you may burn your hair if it's on too long. Put a towel or sheet over your hair %26amp; the iron on top. NEVER IRON DIRECTLY ON HAIR

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

By straightener do you mean chemical or appliance?

Chemical straightener is do able, it is very damaging but if done correctly the results are incredibly straight hair. Plug-in appliances work too, but they take more work and you might not get the result you want. I used a regular clothes iron to iron my hair, it helps to have someone assist!

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

You can get it pernamently straighten (sorry about my spelling)

or just wash ur hair and dry it with a comb keep brushing it while you do it.

Ive never had this problem because i was born with naturally straight hair. So i hope this works !

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

yes blow dry your hair in sections with a big barrel round brush. Also use straightening serum but John Freeda but run a fan while your doing it, because if your like me with long thick hair it gets real hot

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

do not use Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight. it has a wax in it that causes split ends and damaged hair because it coats it and then breaks off.

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

Use an iron and ironing board, it should work.

What is a way to straighten your hair completely without using a straightener?

um, you could use a blow dryer or a flat iron. the flat iron is easier and quicker, but the blow dryer works just as well. try getting some products that will aid your hair in staying straight. like the shampoo from herbal essence, Dangerously straight. it does work, i had it a couple months ago and when me hair dried it was only a little wavy at the ends but the rest of my hair was completely straight.

Is there a way to straighten my hair without a straightener?

i have an access to gel hair spray blow dryer comb

thats mostly it and if you have any other suggestions i will be happy to hear them.

Is there a way to straighten my hair without a straightener?

Well sometimes I straighten my hair with a blow dryer instead of a straightener because it is a lot faster and I have thick hair. Once you get out of the shower put a quarter size amount of gel in your hands, rub them together and spread throughout your hair. After that, comb your hair just so that it spreads evenly throughout. What I do is I tilt my head down and have the blow dryer in one hand, a vent brush (or comb, since that's what you've got) and slowly comb down a part of my hair and put the blow dryer on it as I move down the hair shaft. It takes me a while because I have thick hair so sometimes I just blow dry my hair all over before so it's still damp, but not as wet. Once you've got it all dry and straight spray some hair spray all over your hair (just a little bit) and comb through once more (once again just to spread it throughout evenly). Since you put gel in it beforehand, it shouldn't be frizzy. Good luck.

Is there a way to straighten my hair without a straightener?

Use a smoothing shampoo/conditioner, and blow dry your hair with the air directed down the hair shaft.

Is there a way to straighten my hair without a straightener?

I can't think of anything that can straighten with just what you have [considering you don't have naturally straight hair] but all I could tell you is to blow dry your hair with a big brush and straighten it that way.

Is there a way to straighten my hair without a straightener?

Uhh well you could get it relaxed then its straight "permanently" as soon as your wavy/curly roots come back in they just relex it a bit more and Viola you have straight hair everyday. But like odnt do this if you like wearing your hair different ways because its you relax it and then 2 weeks later you want it wavy...Yeah thats not gunna happen but for just wanting it straight ALL THE TIME thats what I did a couple years ago...and then i went back to curly =]

Is there a way to straighten my hair without a straightener?

do you have an iron?

you can lay down on the ground (make the ironing board flat) put a towel over your hair and iron through the towel.

it straightens it but it isn't really good for your hair...

but it will get the job done :)

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

I was having a chat at work (I am male) with my colleagues (all female) and we found out that they all panic about forgetting to switch off their hair straighteners. I gave an example of my wife panicking so much that she made me turn the car round to go home after 10 miles of driving. I told her the house was insured, but that wasn't enough reassurance.

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

It's the evolution of women... ten years ago we would have panicked about leaving the iron on instead.

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

Those suckers get hot! They could catch something on fire SOOOO easily

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

Straighteners cost like $200 or more.

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

Its called GHD

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

There was a report on TV a while back about GHD hair straighteners - they can catch fire even when switched off at the plug - its true! I bought a pair recently and have been very careful with them, far more than I ever have been with any other electrical appliance.

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

They get really hot. They could easily catch something on fire. I've gotten half way somewhere before and couldn't remember if I've caught my straightener off, and had to turn around and go back home to check. It's easier just driving a few extra miles to make sure it's off, then to have to re-build your house and buy all new things=]

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

Ha. Straigteners are funny because there's only the heated interior. That makes it very hard to not only catch a house on fire, but even to burn yourself while you're using it.

However, I left my curling iron on one day a few years back for the entire school day (8-4), chilling on my floor. I freaked out when I saw it. Half thankful, I turned it off and felt that the wood floor beneath it was hot. That was all. Neither before nor after that experience did I ever worry about leaving it on.

In short, some chicks just spaz.

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

I left mine on once, lying on the carpet in the bedroom, and i even put a pile ov washing down on top of them coz i didnt realise they were still on!!!!!! i went out 4 the day and when i came bac i could feel the heat soon as i walked in the room, all my washing was scorched, (it had to b my new white top and underwear didnt it)???? i was lucky that time and iv lernt my lesson...... wont do that again x

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

Yeah they get v hot, i'd rather drive 10 milies home to turn them off rather than worry bout all my lovely things getting burnt to a crisp.

What is it with women and hair straighteners that make them develop OCD?

Hi thre probably one of the most dangerous things to leave switched on. As they get to really high temperatures and if left unattended then who knows what can happen. They can cause blisters just from touching them for a second.

Also some are known to explode, and all sorts. Im the same with any electical equipment. not only my hair straighteners. I can never leave a plug in a plug socket when its turned off. Im too cautious about things like that, Who know when there is a fire, even though the insurance may cover it, you still loosing the memorys and posessions.

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

I have just had my hair layed. My hair is thick and blond and when they cut it, they straightened it too. Now, its gone completly puffy and weird. Is their any way to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners too often?

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

dont let it air dry. when you get out of the shower, put a good hair product in it( use one that smooths out the hair.) and wrap a towel around it for about 15 min. when you take off the towel brush you hair and blowdry it with a diffuser (blowdry down wards on the hottest temp.). after blowdrying it, put the product back in your hair. and your hair is shiney and smooth.

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

I'm sorry but no... i have curly hair cut in layers... and i have to use a straightener EVERY day....good luck!

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

Well, stop using volume infusing items, and stop using curling shampoos. Some shampoos on the market have somethings to straighten the hair. keep your hair hydrated and cleaned from any gels for an even better look.

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

after showering dont blow dry your hair up side down!! blow dry from the top and with your fingers pull down while blow drying! i have the same problem and trust me, this way really does work.

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

stop messing with your hair , and enjoy it

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

at walgreens they sell these temporary hair straighteners that are velcro strips from goody for about 1 dollar for a pack of four. they really work but might cause slight static.also pantene has this shampoo called extra straight that is the best at straightening wavy hair. ask a salon for tips too.

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

my hair is in layers too and pretty thick as well i got my hair chemicaly straightened and i think it would wourk 4 u 2 but the thing is its pretty pricey it cost me like $ 85 but u can wash ur hair and everything and it will stay straight for about 6 months

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

You can wash your hair and blow dry it or wrap your hair and pin it to protect the ends from braking and getting a straight look.

Does anyone know how to keep my hair straighter apart from using hair straighteners?

blow your hair dry with the dryer pointing downward the whole time...(closes the cuticle) and slowly drag a paddle brush with the dryer at the same time...wont make it as straigt as an iron but will make it shiny and managable
