hey i was looking online for a good straightener and heard that a chi was a really good one. does it work? does it damage your hair?

Yeah it oes damage your hair! What I suggest, is to buy an HAI straightener, because it has ceramic plates, it decreases the bad effects on your hair. You should also buy a styling product, such as a pantene one that works witht he heat to make your hair shine, and also helps to keep your helahty by moistuizing it and not drying it out! Good luck! it works but like everything it dies out. juss dont use it on your hair too much. too much heat can cause it to damage.

wow! that is my exact straightener. it is the BEST ever...believe me. my hair is poofy, thick and wavy/curly and it takes me 10-15 minutes to straighten my hair with it. it does NOT damage my hair nearly as much as other straighteners have, and when I bought mine I also bought the CHI 44 Iron Guard Thermal Protecting Spray (http://www.originalchi.com/chi44-irongua... and I spritz it all over my hair before I straighten. I am in love with my straightener (it heats up super fast too-like literally 30 seconds)

I think a Chi would work very well, and it would only damage your hair if you clamp down on the same section for too long or if you don't use a thermal protection product like Redken "Smooth Down Heat Glide" or "TIGI Catwalk Fashionista Smooth %26amp; Shine Heat and Iron Safe."

i have and use chi products, straightener included, it works great and it even seems to add a bit of shine. as far as damaging goes every straightener, curling iron, even blow dryer will damage your hair. you're putting alot of heat directly on your hair. i mean these items usually wont noticeably damage your hair. but to prevent damage from occurring at all you should use a product on your hair that you apply before you straighten. chi makes a product for this. the only bad thing about chi products is that they are expensive, but they are worth the money. you get what you pay for right?

The Chi straightener is not good for people that have very thin hair. It is good for medium-course hair because it is a very hot straightener and people with thin hair will lose a lot of hair and it will be flat on their face. If you do not want your hair to get damaged and or burned, you should buy a shine serum and apply before and after straighteneing your hair. It prevents frizz and also gives it a cute shine. it does work the best way to keep your hair from getting damage is to use a hair mask 2 or 3 x a week and also before you straighten use a serum like garnier fructis sleek and shine serum or Paul Mitchell's super skinny serum or Biosilk serum. This protects hair from heat and gives it a shine and silky feel

a lot of straighteners can damage your hair, don't use it a lot or too long. but the chi straightener works well. it may damage your hair if you use it wrong (i.e. when you hair is wet, leaving it on your hair too long). you can also use a shampoo that protects your hair from styling damage..

yes it does damage your hair it breaks the ends of it so it wouln't grow just make sure u use good shampoo try that new time renewl stuff and don't strightn it if u don't have to

The Chi works best on people with thick meduim or long hair, people with fine hair will leave their hair burnt!!..Now every flat iron does somewhat damage your hair to keep it healthy you have to get regular trims, deep conditioning, and use heat protectant some good ones are Biosilk and Redken. But there is something wrong with the Chi for many people it has broken just as the warranty ends or even sooner. There have been some reports that it leaves your hair really dry soem people prefer to get the Sedu, this one isn't realy known in the US but its a really good one. They cost almost the same price...its in www.folica.com too you can probably see the reviews about it. Now what you can do is get the one you like the most after reading the reviews and if dosen't give you good results then try to return it and get your other choice, becuase people have different types of hair and the flat iron won't give everyone the same results.
