I wouldn't do that; it might come out gray %26gt;_%26lt;

But DEFINATELY don't use the straightener on it.... that's the same thing as using the straightener after you leave the bathtub-- all it will do is BURN your hair. Split ends are a NIGHTMARE!

Proxide works as well,just be careful not to over do it because it can damage your hair by drying it out %26amp; causing it to break.You don't have to sit in the sun either.Just run out to your nearest Walmart %26amp; buy a bottle of Sun In.Best Wishes %26amp; Be Blessed! Monica

Don't Do It! If you have dark brown to black hair use peroxide. Using lemon juice is primarily for blonde to brown hair- They tend to have a thinner cuticle, so the acid from the juice lightens it. Depending on your ethnicity (which usually determines the type of cuticle you have- super shiny, dry, oily, etc...) using lemon juice can turn it from an orange to purple (one summer my Asian friend used it all the time, and ended up purple) It can be a fun color change, but it isn't consistant. If you really want highlights you can go into a salon for a consultation (usually totally free) on what would look natural or new styles, without killing your hair.
